Swimming Together
* Low Impact. If you’ve only just started exercising or are recovering from an injury swimming is a great way to get started. The water cushions your body and provides only as much resistance as your body can tolerate. It’s a full body workout that’s customizable to anyone, and requires nothing more than a pool pass to get started.
* Economical. All you need in order to get started swimming is a bathing suit, towel, and a pool pass. There’s no worry about getting special equipment. The pool provides all you need. Sure there are lots of little gadgets and accessories you can get, but the fact remains that for a full body workout you can’t beat the price!
* Social. Swimming doesn’t only have to be doing laps in a lane; you can go to the pool just to hang out. The pool is a great place for a family outing. Take the kids out to the pool for some healthy outdoor fun. It’s a great way to spend quality time with friends and family and get a workout.
* Relaxing. So far most of what this article has outlined has been about exercise, but one of the best things about swimming is that it’s relaxing. Even if you’re not in the mood to exercise, the pool is a great place to go and just relax. Had a tough day at work? Float your troubles away with a lazy backstroke.
* Fun. Going along with relaxing and socializing is the fun part of swimming. Get out those noodles and just play in the water. You can dive for rings or have races. Not to mention, pretty much any sport you can think of to play on land can be adapted for water. Find a way to adapt your favorite sport to play in the pool.
Swimming is a full body workout that’s as easy on your wallet as it is on your body. The pool can provide a fun place to hang out with friend and family as you relax after a hectic work day. So get out there are start swimming; it’s good for the body, and the mind.
